Motoho is Basotho traditional dish , which is nitrous for men, woman , elderly as well as kids, who mostly depends on it for growth . However nowadays "motoho" is well known almost in every African country.In order to prepare "motoho " one needs mabele meal, litomoso , lukewarm water, a sieve, bucket , lesokoana and cloth. These ingredients depends on one's preference and measurement as kg of Mabele meal can produce 5litres of motoho.

Motoho is usually prepared by a woman whereby mabele meal is sieved and poured into the bucket , add luke warm water and stir with "lesokoana" until the mixture is dissolved , then add "litomoso" cover overnight. In the morning the woman will check if the water is sour, then that means it is ready to be cooked, in the olden days t
hree legged pot was used to cook , whereby sour water is poured into the pot and left to boil , as it boils mixture of mabele meal at the bottom of the bucket is added to the water and stirs until the mixture is well and thick , then let it to simmer for quiet sometime and when the meal is well cooked , it is left to cool .The dish can be served as refreshment or even fills up.
